The WHS Orchestra classes consist of three levels: Concert, Symphonic, and Chamber. Students audition for the Symphonic and Chamber level orchestras. Each of the three classes participate in multiple concerts throughout the year, take a spring trip, perform in the Large Group Performance Evaluation festival, and work towards high quality performances. Students are encouraged to perform in small ensembles as well as these large classes. In addition to the three classes, a newly formed ensemble group, "Strings Attached: Mentors to Minter" has been formed for the top performers in the orchestra. These individuals perform in the community every month and assist with the beginning students at Sara Harp Minter Elementary School.
